lyrics
Then Oscar said something else you’d thought blue.
I’ll call her your name if you want me to.
And set aside that worldly fling.
Well six years don’t have wings, but babe believe they flew.
And yet it still feels mine.
How could I ever want what was never fine.
But now you won’t believe it’s true but..
A psychedelic kids extra, on Highbury Fields, thought of you.
Joe pinch me, we’re in the hands of Zara’s styling team.
The Macaulays are informing me on what fame really means.
You still occupy everything.
Cos since Weather, It hasn’t gotten any better.
My 12 in Kennington can wait.
We’re on the precipice of something bait.
Well Joe, you know they’ll...
They’ll never be the same as us.
And if you ever hear this just go and think of us.
Four boys died on that Beatles bus.
Freckled, love is now a cold metal.
Since Weather, It hasn’t gotten any better.
My 12 in Kennington can wait
We’re on the precipice of something great.
We bring the bad weather.
And I should’ve let, you crawl under my skin
Lets begin again
For the last time, Christ.
La la la la la..
Could have been anything out of life
It’s only now it stabs late at night.
After 3 months call me just to say:
Give back my favourite jeans.
Take back what he said to me.
Maybe it’s better alone.
Give back my favourite jeans.
Take back what he said to me.
Why do we have to pretend?
Let's begin again, begin again, begin again.
I can handle being the 3rd best guitar band in London
But baby just let me be first at something.
And now you won’t believe it’s true, but...
A psychedelic kids extra...

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
